Round Table Discussion: Intelligence Without Borders: Artificial Intelligence, Humanity, and the Future
15. January

The rapid development of artificial intelligence, especially chatbots, raises critical questions across various fields that require thorough consideration. Artificial intelligence’s advancement transcends individual domains’ limitations and raises questions about education, the economy, creativity, and more. Therefore, we are organising a public event to discuss the impact of artificial intelligence on society and the future. The focus will be on fundamental questions, ethical aspects, and the social and political consequences of introducing artificial intelligence. The primary target audience for the event are students at the University of Primorska, students from coastal high schools, and other young individuals who will strongly feel the changes brought about by artificial intelligence.
1. Fundamental questions: What is artificial intelligence, and how does it differ from human intelligence? How does technological progress affect human intelligence?
2. Ethics and the future: How can we ethically contemplate the development of artificial intelligence? What futures can we envision with rapid technological advancement?
3. Social consequences: What will be the social and political consequences of introducing artificial intelligence? How will this affect the European Union’s work, economy, politics, and regulation?
[The event will take place in 2025. The exact date will be announced later.]
