Pyrolysis of waste plastic
8. October,08:30 - 13:00
The pupils of the primary school Angel Besednjak Maribor will collect and sort plastic and bring it to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. There, we will weigh it, add a catalyst (zeolite), seal it in a chamber and carry out the pyrolysis process. The pyrolysis oil will be collected in separate containers, which the students will take back to school, where they can observe its properties (melting temperature). During the process, we will measure the temperature in the chamber and the current mass of the pyrolysis oil so that they can understand the influence of the catalyst.
