Is Chinese Really Such a Difficult Language?
26. September, 2025,08:00 - 16:00

In the workshops, we will first briefly present the characteristics and specific features of the Chinese language, and then explore why certain linguistic elements of Chinese are perceived as difficult. We will also consider which characteristics and features of Slovenian are perceived as challenging by foreigners. By comparing the languages, we will try to verify these claims. We will also examine which features of Chinese make it easier for us to learn and memorize the sound patterns or the written form of Chinese characters.
The workshops will be led by sinologists, Chinese language teachers, and students who are learning Chinese and Slovenian.
