Critical Understanding of Media Content
26. September, 2025

The media critical analysis workshop will provide participants with knowledge for a conceptual understanding of media content. The aim is to identify viewpoints, genres, and patterns of media presentation, and to detect propaganda, censorship, and bias within content. The group of young people aged 12 to 15 is assumed to have insufficient media literacy; however, they are more skilled in using mobile digital devices and can create some media content and share it with other users. At the same time, they access content uncritically and are therefore a potentially vulnerable group exposed to fake news and online abuse. The workshop will demonstrate how exposed they are to fake news and teach them how to develop a critical attitude toward information and other media content.
Implementation for pupils and teachers of Anton Ukmar Primary School Koper.
