SUMMARY:Chatting with Ana Vovk in the rhythm of nature: New biodynamics - why do we need it?
DESCRIPTION:In addition to organic farming\, we also know biodynamic farming which differs from the organic in that it involves cosmic forces. Dr. Rudolf Steiner was the founder of biodynamics\, whose work was continued by Marija Thun. Today\, as the land/soil is dying much faster than ever before\, we need a new biodynamic which includes only plant preparations instead of animal components and is suitable for a wider range of users.

SUMMARY:Presentation of a Research Visit to Australia
DESCRIPTION:A master’s student of tourism at the Faculty of Tourism Studies – Turistica (University of Primorska) will present to pupils his research experience gained during a visit to Deakin University in Australia\, carried out under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Kaja Antlej and made possible by ASEF. As part of the presentation\, he will share insights into the process of planning and conducting the research\, which brought together an interdisciplinary group of experts. In addition\, he will enrich the presentation with descriptions of cultural and natural landmarks he visited during his stay in Australia. \n\nFurther below\, you are kindly invited to read and view the following materials related to the event: \n\n\nThe invitation with the program is available at this link.\nPhotos from the event:

SUMMARY:Excursions into the Mathematical Universe: The Secrets of Jurij Vega: A Universal Mind Ahead of His Time
DESCRIPTION:A series of popular science lectures titled “Excursions into the Mathematical Universe.” The lectures are primarily intended for students of secondary schools in the Primorska region\, but they are also open to the general public. Researchers and university lecturers will present ancient and modern mathematical concepts and their applicability in various fields of science\, natural sciences\, and social sciences in an accessible way. \n\nThe Secrets of Jurij Vega: A Universal Mind Ahead of His Time \nWe will present Vega’s life path from a student at a Jesuit school to an artillery officer\, as well as his scientific and military contributions. Among his scientific achievements\, his logarithmic tables and table of prime numbers are certainly the most well known; he also calculated pi to 137 decimal places\, very accurately calculated the ballistic curve\, dealt with Kepler’s laws and the estimation of the mass of celestial bodies\, and as an artillery officer modernized mortars (the predecessors of today’s mortars). \nAbout the lecturer: Jasna Prezelj earned her PhD in complex analysis in 2000. After completing her doctorate\, she was employed at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics as an assistant. She is currently employed as a researcher at IMFM and as a professor at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of the University of Ljubljana and at UP FAMNIT. She teaches general mathematics courses\, mathematical modeling\, and analysis. Her research field is complex analysis. From 2015 to 2023\, she edited the online prize quiz Mathematical Advent Calendar for secondary and primary school students at UP FAMNIT. \n\n\nFurther below\, you are kindly invited to read and view the following materials related to the event: \n\nThe invitation with the program is available at this link.\nEvent materials are available at this link.\nA recording of the event is available at this link.\nPhotos from the event:
