In this workshop we will use games and examples to introduce statistical concepts to children. Participants will learn the fundamentals of statistics and acquire basic skills for data analysis through play. The workshop is designed for children from grade 1 to grade 3 that will encounter the data cycle: they will define a research question, and based on this question…
Selected authors participating in this year's competition of the Youth for Progress Maribor programme will present their research papers and innovation proposals. Since the school year 1983/84, the "Youth for the Progress of Maribor" programme has been encouraging research work by young people. Initially organised by the Municipality of Maribor, since 2007 it has been run under the auspices of…
Join us to explore various energy solutions for a cleaner, brighter tomorrow. Learn how these innovative technologies harness the power of nature while reducing environmental impact and enhancing energy efficiency.
As part of the "HybridNeuro" project, we are developing hybrid neuroscience that combines cortical and muscular information for motor rehabilitation and the assessment of neuromuscular disorders. This activity aims to raise awareness about the functioning of the human body, with a special emphasis on the sources of electrical current within it. A 3D model of the human body composed of…
Visitors can generate electric energy by pedalling a bicycle, which will be used at the adjacent traffic light. The electricity and energy produced will be displayed on the TV screen.
Rose, coffee, fire - these are just three of the approximately 1 trillion smells that the human nose and brain can distinguish between, according to a new study. Could we distinguish the smells of different plant species?
Could you recognise the lesser-known animals that live in our environment? You will notice many small and slightly larger creatures that reside near our homes, but you may not know them well. Are you interested in learning about these animals and would you recognise them? Join us and get to know them!
The workshop focuses on invasive alien species of plants and animals that are increasingly present in our environment. Have you ever noticed them? Where?
In the workshop, we will showcase exciting plant structures and closely examine leaf surfaces. Participants will be able to observe fascinating plant structures with a microscope and magnifying glass, create imprints of leaf surfaces and examine them under a microscope.
The exhibition of different magnetic experiments includes: - Gaussian cannon: a magnet attracts an iron ball, which is transferred to another ball attracted by another magnet - Magnetic machine: shows the Curie temperature, where the magnet cools and remagnetises - Free-falling magnet in a copper tube: the magnet changes the magnetic field density, triggering induced currents and generating forces in…
Participants, especially teachers, will learn how CNC laser technology can enrich traditional classroom crafts. The discussion will focus on stimulating students' critical thinking, creativity and research skills with the help of modern technology. The focus will be on integrating science, technology and the arts as well as promoting open knowledge and gender balance.
