Therefore\, we are organising a public event to discuss the impact of artificial intelligence on society and the future. The focus will be on fundamental questions\, ethical aspects\, and the social and political consequences of introducing artificial intelligence. The primary target audience for the event are students at the University of Primorska\, students from coastal high schools\, and other young individuals who will strongly feel the changes brought about by artificial intelligence. \n1. Fundamental questions: What is artificial intelligence\, and how does it differ from human intelligence? How does technological progress affect human intelligence?\n2. Ethics and the future: How can we ethically contemplate the development of artificial intelligence? What futures can we envision with rapid technological advancement?\n3. SUMMARY:Critical Understanding of Media Content – Workshop for Students
DESCRIPTION:The critical media analysis workshop will offer participants knowledge for conceptual understanding of media content. Its goal is to identify points of view\, genres\, and patterns of media representation and detect propaganda\, censorship\, and bias in the news. A group of young people between the ages of 12 and 15\, we hypothesise\, show low media literacy but are more adept at using mobile digital devices and can create some media content and share it. At the same time\, they access the content uncritically and are\, therefore\, a potentially vulnerable group exposed to fake news and online abuse. The workshop will show how much they are exposed to fake news and train them to develop critical attitudes towards information and other media content. \n[The event will be held by agreement with the school. SUMMARY:Pyrolysis of waste plastic
DESCRIPTION:The pupils of the primary school Angel Besednjak Maribor will collect and sort plastic and bring it to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. There\, we will weigh it\, add a catalyst (zeolite)\, seal it in a chamber and carry out the pyrolysis process. The pyrolysis oil will be collected in separate containers\, which the students will take back to school\, where they can observe its properties (melting temperature). During the process\, we will measure the temperature in the chamber and the current mass of the pyrolysis oil so that they can understand the influence of the catalyst.

SUMMARY:The Consequences of Fake Science in Society and How We Can Act (documentary screening and panel discussion)
DESCRIPTION:First\, we will watch a documentary about a specific case of fake science and its consequences. Then\, in a relaxed debate\, we will talk about the manipulation of research data and ideas that online sources and social networks readily exploit and what the consequences can be. In online communication\, we are witnessing an increasing loss of knowledge\, an inability to think critically\, and an increasingly aggressive justification of the personal point of view as the only acceptable one. The aim of communication is no longer the progress or development of society but the assertion of one’s own opinion\, one’s validity\, the sale of a product\, whatever the price paid\, whether by the individual or by society as a whole. The panellists will share their experiences with the audience and point out what to look out for when seeking and sharing information.

DESCRIPTION:Outdoor storytelling will be held in the Mythical Park in Rodik. The Mythical Park is an example of an excellent cooperation between researchers and the local community. Here the research idea was realised with the support of the local community. Its success also lies in preserving the heritage of storytelling\, which is not “”frozen”” in audio-visual records. Stories from the park and beyond will be told by researchers\, experts and people from the local community who live with the Park.
