Virtual Reality in the Development of Content for Geopark Promotion
26. September, 2025,11:00 - 13:00

Geoparks around the world face numerous challenges: how to preserve and at the same time interpret complex natural processes, how to engage younger visitors who are accustomed to interactive and digital content, and how to develop tourism products that are attractive while not endangering sensitive environments. Virtual reality offers precisely this—it provides a safe, sustainable, and inclusive form of experience that brings natural and cultural values closer to visitors in an innovative way. We will present how we developed a virtual cycling experience along selected routes within the geopark—visitors to the European Researchers’ Night will be able to try out a short interactive simulation of cycling through characteristic karst landscapes, where they will learn about natural landmarks, geological features, and the cultural heritage of the area along the way.
