Marie Skłodowska-Curie: an inspiration to follow
This European Researchers' Night project is funded by the European Commission under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions
The main purpose of the Safe with Science project is to popularize the research profession and introduce it to the general public, esp. the youth. Through various activities, the project raises awareness of the important role of researchers, science and its impact on all areas of human activity. At the same time, the project informs of various European and national funding programmes and other activities aimed at researchers’ career development, research work, equipment and attractive working conditions.
The central event organised within the Safe with Science project is the European Researchers' Night, taking place on four different locations: Ljutomer, Maribor, Koper, Izola on 28 September 2018 and 27 September 2019. The event is aimed at all those interested in “how does it work” and how science impacts our everyday lives. The event represents a unique opportunity for the youth, who will get to know different aspects of attractive research careers offering exciting employment prospects. Last but not least, the project also provides the opportunity to participate in interesting experiments, workshops and lab visits. In addition, visitors will be able to chatter with researchers in a festive atmosphere. Young people will learn about the research career and tasks of researchers and how to balance professional and personal life.
Researchers’ Night is designed as a popular science event – despite its scientific nature, it is intended for the general public.
